Carrier Access Code Blocking - V8.0

History Log

Product Description

Carrier Access Code Blocking is a feature that will restrict attempts to place 1+ calls over an alternate carrier's network.

It will be most commonly requested by public/long distance aggregators; e.g., coin vendors, hotels, hospitals and universities whose systems allow 1+ access yet who desire 101XXXX1+ or 101XXXX011+ blocked. While these aggregators must allow equal access for their "guest" to the long distance networks, they may be unable to track and bill back calls that are directly dialed on Alternate Carrier networks.

Availability
Carrier Access Code Blocking is available:

  • In all states on all lines in all 5ESS®, 5RSM, and 5ORM ( remote switches of a 5ESS switch) switch types except in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
  • On single party service, line side trunks and Multi-Line Hunting.

Carrier Access Code Blocking is not available:

  • On trunk groups, route index or Direct Inward Dialing (DID®) numbers

Carrier Access Code Blocking is included with Long Distance (toll) Restriction and with certain CustomNet™ options. For additional information on blocking options, refer to the Block Values link located in the Blocking Job Aid. Carrier Access Code Blocking can also be added as a stand-alone blocking feature.

A remote is a switch that is away from its host or control office.

Additional information can be found in the Pre-Ordering Overview.
